Spring Cleaning Guide

If you're like us, warmer weather means decluttering, cleaning, and organizing your home! We've put together a guide to help you find sustainable ways to donate some items that have been collecting dust.

Food & Beverage Items

We know how easy it is for those canned goods to stack up. Or how those ingredients to make pasta salad got pushed to the back of the refrigerator. Don’t let these food items go to waste. Asheville has wonderful programs to donate those items before they gather dust or mold.

Free Fridge AVL

Free Fridge AVL

Sign up to drop off your unwanted food items at Asheville’s Free Fridge located at 382 South French Broad. Drop off’s takes place twice or three times a week. You can sign up here.

If you don’t have any food items to donate but love what the Free Fridge is doing you can email them directly to either donate financially or get involved!

Clothes

Trends come and go but our closets stay the same size. The big-name donation stores are always a quick and easy way to free yourself of some of those old clothes but the truth is most of the time the clothes end up in the landfill. Here are a few local and sustainable ways to clean out your closet.
