Although Asheville is known for its breweries, our wine lovers have not been forgotten. From vineyards to urban wineries to tasting rooms, there is no shortage of great local wine spots. In honor of this festive holiday, we’ve created the perfect go-to guide for all the best spots in the Asheville wine scene.
Plēb Urban Winery
Best Wine Selection: Bottle Riot
Located in the River Arts District, Bottle Riot is one of our favorites due to its large and unique selection of wines. Their eclectic vibe and rotating door of live music create the best environment to try wines that might be out of your comfort zone. Along with wine, they offer custom cocktails, local craft beer, and light bites.

Best Outdoor Space: Leo’s House of Thirst
Leo’s House of Thirst is one of our favorite outdoor spaces to grab a glass of vino. Tucked away in West Asheville, this quaint local spot is perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon. They also are known to host pop-up markets and vendors regularly. Alongside their wonderful selection of wines, they serve a full food menu, beer, cider, and spirits.

Most Pet Friendly: Plēb Urban Winery
Grab your furry friends and head down to the Rivers Arts District to Plēb Ubran Winery. Their large warehouse is welcoming to all pets indoors and outdoors, so even on a rainy day your dog can enjoy a glass of wine with you. Known for its wine flights and artistic ambiance, Pleb is a must-visit for Asheville locals and visitors. Offering a wide variety of in-house wines along with local beers and cider. The food truck is open on Saturdays and Sundays with snacks at the bar available all week.

Best View: Mountain Brook Vineyards
If you are like us then there is nothing better than a glass of wine with a view. Mountain Brook Vineyards is a stone’s throw away from Asheville but well worth the drive. This stunning vineyard is located in Tryon, NC, and offers its locally made wine. They serve light bites but also welcome outside food as well. There is no shortage of events at Moutain Brook from live music to sip and paints. This spot makes for the perfect day trip.
