A Foodie’s Weekend in Asheville

Our client Christy and her husband are big foodies and beer lovers, making Asheville the perfect destination for his birthday! Asheville has so much to offer from cultural culinary experiences to local farm-to-table dining options. It was hard to choose but we think this itinerary covers all the best food and beverage spots in the city for a weekend!

Friday

  • Accommodations: Glamp AVL

    Check in to a luxurious glamping dome that has all the amenities to make your trip one to remember. Enjoy being only 20 minutes from downtown Asheville while feeling like you are in your own oasis.

  • Local Picnic: Unwind and take in the expansive views with a private outdoor picnic. Charcuterie from Asheville Charcietuer Co., beer from Highland Brewery, and sweets from OWL Bakery.

  • Craft Beer & Live Music: Then, head to downtown Fairview to Turgua Brewing for local craft beer and live music. Known for their culinary exploration, cultural discovery, and love of sustainable organic farming.

Saturday

  • Brunch: Head into the city for a day full of once-in-a-lifetime dining experiences and amazing locally crafted beverages. Kick off the day with brunch at The Market Place. The Market Place has been a fixture in downtown Asheville since 1979. Though its beginnings rose in the streams and mountains of western North Carolina – a place of mountain trout and small farms – it also has a hand and heart inspired by traditions far from our borders. Reservations are highly recommended!

  • Asheville Breweries Tour: Spend the afternoon with BREW-ed Brewery Tours downtown Asheville. BREW-ed is known for not only taking you to amazing breweries but also sharing their wealth of knowledge about the world’s oldest beverage. You’ll visit Catawba Brewery, Twin Leaf Brewery, and Green Man Brewery while learning a thing or two along the way. Walking tours are $60 a person and include samples at each brewery,

  • Dinner: Enjoy one of Asheville’s premier steakhouses for dinner, Bone and Broth. Step outside of the city into the historic Chestnut Hill neighborhood for a comfortable, cozy, culinary experience. Their chef serves up a great mix of Southern classics to go with premium dry-aged steak and a variety of creative small plates and entrees.

  • Cocktails & Dessert: Wrap up the day with sunset cocktails at The Observatory at the top of The Restoration Hotel overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains.
